The best bus terminal anywhere. Supermarket, Pharmacy, walking distance to airport and ID/Birth certificates issued on the spot by the “Registro Civil”. A benchmark for other bus stations around the world

Very large but modern bus terminal combined with a shopping mall. There are lots of people around so take the usual precautions in any crowded place. I found it best to connect to the free WiFi (lasts 30 minutes, no email address needed) whilst in a shop rather than on the concourse. The yellow taxis outside the station are signposted and easy to find as they queue up. However due to worries about taxis, I preferred to use WiFi to order a pickup by Uber (yes Uber does work in Guayaquil though not in many other cities in Ecuador). Uber cost 3 to go downtown near Malecon 2000 which seemed reasonable.
Ok
Excellent
Huge 3 floor terminal, pretty clean and with all the services needed. Now, it is very unorganised and lacking of general information. I lost 15 minutes trying to figure out where to buy my tickets (and workers there doesn’t know either). To add, although it is full of security guards be careful with your luggage, I had two people behind me following me and looking at my partner’s bags and stuff.
Safe travels.
It's big and has a lot of services, however it isn't organized, the bus companies are scattered around different floors with no clear signs which is unfortunate. There's a food court with a lot of options. It's as weird mix between a mall and a bus station.
Huge market place and some government services. Lots of activity. Clean bathrooms, but toilet paper must be bought. Taxis are everywhere and public transportation create chaos.
