The rooms are nice, but as always this Selina does not have decent WiFi or consistent hot water. The water in our room frequently shut off (no water from the sink or shower), and it was lukewarm when it decided to work. The WiFi was barely strong enough to reach the room, and in the few places we could use it, the speeds were below 0.15 MBPS. The entire co-working space was replaced with a clothing shop. There were no desks, meeting rooms, call boxes, etc. I find it unacceptable that a company that bills itself as remote-friendly would completely alienate anyone who actually needs to get work done. In short, if you're only here to party, then Selina Montanita is probably fine. But if you need to work, or if you want a warm shower every once in a while, then this isn't the place for you. There are other hostels in Montanita which offer better services for cheaper. I'm very disappointed.
Unsafe , not safe , one guy broke my door and entered the dorm and stole my things I was at the pool at 2:00 pm and the reception didn’t care at all about the robbery situation
Great location and a very nice place, if you want to meet travelers is not the place to be, but the ay hace a lot of activities and everything is clean all the time! The food is like a 7/10 so, not bad actually but you can find better options at the street’s restaurants.
Very cool hotel! Got a pool, restaurant, and access to the beach. Make sure to bring a lock for you to use a locker in the bedroom.
The hostel looks great until you start to use the services. I booked a private room and it had an AC that hadn't been cleaned in so long that it was causing the whole room to smell like mold. That wasn't a big deal until I tried to fall asleep and couldn't stop coughing. Combine that with the loud music playing at all times, and a nap was impossible. Went to take a shower and when I tried to change the direction of the water, I was electrocuted by the cheap water heaters that they decided to install on their shower heads. Brought both of these issues up to management and was offered a 4 bed shared room instead of the private I had paid for. A shared room that still had the ridiculously bad odor of mildew/mold from the unserviced air conditioners. It seemed like management really didn't care about the fact that their hostel is run down and dangerous to shower in, or breathe in, for that matter. Really aggravating experience.
The restaurant staff are not helpful and a little rude. They aren’t clear about their happy hour specials as they change depending on who you inquire with. The bar wifi can be reached on the beach.
Great food. Great prices for rooms on the beach. Great view of the ocean.
