One of my favorite markets. Lots to see and buy. Handicrafts available from jewelry, clothing, household decor, artwork, and so much more.

The Otavalo market is great to look at and shop if you really want something, don't get overwhelmed, and don't buy until you have looked around. Make to shop around as many of the sellers have the same merchandise, get a sense of how much it costs. There are 10 or more sellers selling the same stuff so competition is fierce a real barganers paradise,I was even able to get to merchants to fight for my money. If you stay 2 days you'll get better deals on the second day Sunday, especially if it is raining they want to get rid off all their merch.

I come here every year for three months. So much to do in the area besides the market. Visit the bird rescue, walk to the waterfall, see living culture at the living museum. I recommend a horseback your to see it all if you only have a day or two here.

Great place, you can bargain and you will find tons of great things to wear or use at home. You can walk around for a couple of hours and choose from a wide variety among the booths on the street or the stores that go for blocks and blocks...
