I was lucky enough to attend the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final between Valle and Nacional. It has a very old school 80's feel with the scoreboard and athletics track. There was a great atmosphere for the game. In terms of getting a ticket it wasn't too bad. There are legal touts and I only paid 30 which I consider good value for a game of such a magnitude. If you a sports fan and get a chance to catch a game I would recommend.

Nice art deco design but unfortunately not a place where everyone can do something, I meanit is a stadium with fixed calendars for soccer matches and few sports, unfortunately, not strongly supported by the local or central government which is a shame. Looking for quite a historic place? You will like it, looking for fun activities, unless you join the fencing team.

Greatest football in town!

It is the main stadium in Ecuador, and it is not for what it offers (because it is an old stadium, built in 1951) but because it is the home of the Ecuadorian soccer team in the qualifying rounds for the FIFA World Cup

Watching soccer here was a good time. The stadium is a little dated, but not in a way that distracts from the experience. The match we saw was not well attended, so I can't comment on what it's like for a crowded game or concert. When we were there, the fences between the sections around the field were closed, and we were unable to walk around to the other side of the field where there looked to be more for options than the few roving vendors. There were a lot of security and safety folks around, especially for the small crowd. I've seen news about how excited and sometimes chaotic big soccer matches can get, but all was calm and fun in our experience.
