Fine local spot, delicious, and clean. Treated me like a long-lost brother. Alicia’s small restaurant is a friendly spot to eat foods we don’t have in my USA state. If business is slow you can practice Castilian or Quechua. Close to TeleferiQo if you want to climb Rucu Pichincha. Convenient AirBnB apartments above. Next time in Ecuador, I'm staying here again to acclimate.

We stopped here after visiting the funicular overlooking the city. Possibly the friendliest restaurant proprietor I’ve ever met. Said her Airbnb guests and restaurant patrons were like family and she treated us that way (she actually emailed us recently to send well wishes). Oh, also, the empanadas were delicious. Great hole-in-the-wall spot for lunch or snack. Highly suggest you visit if you’re in the area in Quito!
The empanadas were delicious!! Highly recommend! The restaurant is cozy and inexpensive too.
We stayed at this place for a few nights. The host is very kind. A little noisy in the morning but quiet otherwise. Appartment is cozy, good gas stove, and we really loved the rooftop, great view. If you are staying here overnight, you must try the empanadas she cooks. Great host.
Wow, this place is great! The owner is super sweet and will proudly show you how she makes these giant empanadas. Great filtered coffee, not the pour it into the water that's brought to you! Also, there's rooms upstairs for rent with a great view of the city!
Its has been a tipical street food in Quito for more than 25 years, it has been on the newspaper and food contest several times trough the years. The empanadas are awesome and the salsas are delicious.
nice and cozy place, great service. maybe tgat kind of food is not my thing, way too greasy and overall I would not come back, but if you like fast food maybe you should give it a try
The most delicious empanadas (vegetarian option) i have had in Ecuador! Plus really good salsas. And you don't even go there for food but for Alicia-the amazing owner of the place! She is super helpful, very cheerful and happy person who can talk with you about everything and anything for as long as you want/can ;) must visit when in Quito!
