I went to Ecuador for 2 weeks and organised two private day trips through Latin American Alpine. I enjoy hiking so Marc suggested I go to Cayambe Volcano and Mojanda Lagoon. I was a little concerned at first about the altitude as I am in my late 60's, however I enjoyed both thoroughly. I did find the Cayambe trip a little long at 12 hours, but the glacier views were magnificent. I also tasted bizcochos in the town of Cayambe. Mojanda was really quiet and it was just me and the guide. We had the whole lagoon to ourselves! It is a special place to spend the day. I highly recommend using Latin American Alpine in Quito. Their service is excellent.
