Diego greeted us at the door. We decided to sit outside. The terrace is elevated over the street, but the noise from the traffic was still pretty noticeable. We started out our meal with a couple of sangrias, they tasted good, the combination of wine, juice and fruit was very nice. Diego brought out a little amuze-bouche from the chef, a small spoon with coastal fish marinated and served with a bit of veggies, it was great, very tangy and pleasant. The bread basket had a few pieces of lightly toasted bread, and the oil & vinegar jar was very cute, with the vinegar containing bulb incapsulated inside the oil containing bulb, there were two spouts with corks to pour the liquid onto the plate. For an appetizer we got Spanish Style potatoes, they were roasted in herbs and spices, reminding me of Mexican pepper, also very good. As for the main course, we got the Sirloin with salad and roasted potatoes & stewed Lamb Spool, served with mushed potatoes. Salads were very fresh with a nice dressing, and all the potato dishes were fantastic. The lamb was very good and tender. However, the steak was overcooked… As we were ordering, Diego explained to us that at the Quito altitude the meat cooked medium rare, which is what we usually get, is too rare… so we decided on medium. When the meet was served, it was medium well.. the flavor was great and the mushroom sauce was excellent, though the meat itself was somewhat tough. Diego was very sweet about it and brought out a free dessert for us to make up for the overcooked steak. I think the dessert was Torrija, crème brulee style sweet cream with a bit of fruit on top. Overall it was a good meal and the service was excellent.

This place is fine dining and was exceptional in both service and food quality. The octopus dish I had was so tender that I used a butter knife to eat it.

Delicious food, excellent price for the quality and the service is amazing. They offer a variety of wines.... the chef amazed me; an Ecuadorian chef showcasing the best of the history of mestizos by creating Spanish dishes the best of the Mediterranean cuisine. I recommend this restaurant. Is located in a beautiful hotel. Well done MAITAiNE!

Ambiance is nice, service is great and very friendly. However, our paella rice was undercooked and seafood not fresh. Our appetizers, including tomatoes were too cold. Price is definitely too high for its quality.

Visited this restaurant yesterday. The place was nicely decorated, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was a different matter, We ordered the Galapagos Tuna as well as the Paella and Arroz Caldoso. We tried to eat them but it was not possible. The seafood was not fresh. There seems to be a lady there a manger type that did not event attempt to offer an explanation or apology. Perhaps it was a bad day for them, but based on my experience I would not recommend it. Furthermore management attitude towards the customer experience is quite appalling.

Loved their Paella! Also great and attentive service and nice ambiance. Very reasonably priced for the quality, though on the pricey side for Quito if you are looking for more budget options.

It's pricey, but very good! There is a great selection of wine! If you are up to spending more dollars then usual this the place to go as it's worth every penny
