This was a 5 star lodge for me! This is the first time I have ever written a 5 star review for anything! Sol (one of the owners and our host) made us feel so welcome! We arrived very late due to some travel delays and she was ready for us... our cabaña was beautiful and ready... and Sol had cooked us an amazing dinner. The salad with eggplant was delicious, not to mentioned the perfect glass of wine to compliment the meal. The cabaña was beautiful .. cozy, and perfectly designed. The bed was comfortable ..the windows opened up and let the bosque nublado breeze come right in. The bathroom out of a magazine, rustic but very functional. The porch overlooking the amazing mountain views makes relaxation a breeze! Sacha Urco’s surrounding and trails make great morning and afternoon walks. The pond with the lily pads is a perfect place to enjoy nature and the sounds of the many birds, including a colorful tucán over in the trees. I loved that the lodge is not to far from town ( 6 kilometers). Far enough to feel that you are in the middle of the cloud forest. My favorite amenity at Sacha Urco was our own guide “ Piqui”, the cutest and sweetest dog ever. Piqui took us on trail walks.. walked us to our cabaña and slept outside our door where she greeted us every morning. The air felt some fresh and the sounds were heaven. Sol made us feel at home... like staying with a loved family member. She took the time to talk to us and share her wonderful vision of the lodge. Rates for these amazing accommodations and surroundings are fair. If you are going to Mindo... this is a must. Lonely Planet... you need to experience this place!!
This place was my favorite lodging experience in Mindo Yet! The rooms are quaint, roomy, and open. The river runs right by, with walking trails, and a beautiful patio to have breakfast, along with locally sourced, farm fresh food. You do need a car to access the property. Will most likely stay here each time I return.
u200d\t\u200d What a good surprise, the Sacha Urco Lodge!Definitely one of the highlights of our family trip to Ecuador. In the middle of incredible vegetation, we stayed in an impeccably clean and confortable bungalow, built in respect of the environment. The hosts Sol and Juan, were incredibly welcoming. They have shared their knowledge of the jungle and its needs. No wonder they have been living there for many years. Breakfast and dinner, cooked by Sol, with the products of their garden, were fresh and delicious. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. The location is spectacular. Worth a trip
What a wonderful way to end our two week long trip to Ecuador spending 3 peaceful and relaxing nights at Sacha Urco. Our “casita” was lovely and clean and comfortable. I especially loved the sitting at the table on the porch with my binoculars ready. The grounds are incredibly beautiful with river and mountain views and lovely walking trails. If you are looking for a tranquil setting to enjoy Mindo’s natural beauty I recommend Sacha Urco.
Fantastic peaceful retreat
He tenido la suerte de hospedarme por una semana en Sacha Urco y mi experiencia fue inolvidable. Sol y su familia son hermosas personas. El entorno natural del lugar es realmente fantástico, hay muchos animales, muchos colores, vegetación muy variada, el mirador al río Mindo es un sueño y por sobre todo es un lugar muy tranquilo donde cualquier dirección que tomes tendrá como mínimo un hermoso paisaje. Gracias por compartir y cuidar tan bello lugar y gracias por la torta de plátano que estuvo exquisita :D
Excelente atención, un lugar magico, la comida es deliciosa, Sol es una excelente anfitriona una persona espectacular realmente todo perfecto
