What a treasure tucked away in the middle of downtown Baños! Don't miss a chance to get to know Artist Marcelo Barahona and explore his art. A visit to Barahona Galería de Arte provides opportunity for cultural exploration and art appreciation all in one special place. I am shocked that I have been visiting Baños for over 25 years and this is the first time that I have had the joy of viewing Marcelo's work. We cannot wait to return! Thank you Marcelo for your attention and time while we were there. Your art adds beautiful energy to our home.

I am not an art critic but this place is great. The artist makes lots of quick small pieces (same content, but no two the same) for tourists like me on a fixed budget, but his larger pieces are rad. I've been to Otavalo and other towns with big markets, but haven't really seen much I actually wanted, this place feels different to me. Shopping here is a perfect way to spend some time in Baños when the rains strike.
A great place to enjoy the art and friendly people
I am a huge art fanatic and this place was very special. Both the larger and smaller pieces give expression to Ecuador which I enjoyed. Met the owner who was incredibly caring and informative, truly a talented artist he is! It’s easy to miss this gallery as it’s on the outskirts of town but it’s a great way to escape the crowds.
I fell in love with a painting of two bicyclists in blue. The perfect size for transport home. The artist was very friendly. Do pay him a visit and buy something!!
This cafe was very charming and clean. The paintings are beautiful and there are some for every budget. The owner is wonderful, he speaks English and makes great coffee. He has many vegetarian options too! Not to mention there are two adorable and friendly cats Cece and Terminator. There is a patio filled with lucious plants. When in the city of Banos please stop by.
I met Joseph in his little gallery with a special atmosphere full of paintings and different pieces of art, you totally enter in the life of the artist. This is allows you to go away from all the touristics stuffs in Baños but situated in the center. You have bracelets or little paintings from 5 / 10 usd to huge paintings of 5000 usd. I'm casually interested into art, but a nice exchange with Josef make you go a little bit deeper in this world. See you soon.
Some of the most incredible art I've seen with my own eyes. I would pay 5-10x the amount for some of those pieces.
