We really enjoyed the homely feeling of Casa de Luis. It was a great combination of Hotel service, and Bed and Breakfast comfort. We were fortunate to have the entire second floor and use of the kitchen. We also enjoyed a movie night on the third floor (comfy sofas and a large television). Luis was very kind and hospitable ensuring we were all comfortable and enjoying ourselves. We enjoyed a wonderful corn and cheese meal with his family where we learned about their past and future ambitions. Luis is a proud outdoorsman and can help you plan or take you on a guided tour along any of the surrounding mountains or volcano. The town of San Pablo is a short 30 min walk where you can enjoy a traditional small town. Otavalo and the famous markets are a 7 taxi ride away. We had the breakfast as part of our stay and enjoyed fresh fruit, eggs, toast, coffee/tea and fresh fruit juice. If you are looking for a relaxing homely stay, with stunning landscapes, small town vibes and friendly faces. This is where you want to stay.

This place is so professional. Luis greeted us out on the street when we pulled up and his accommodating nature never declined. The Casa (like a B & B) has a very warm and charming way about it that makes you feel at home. I would highly recommend it !

Very clean hotel and the owner, Luis is super nice and helpful. We had originally booked another hotel further up the hill from the lake but found that our vehicle was unable to traverse the rocky, muddy roads in the area. Fortunately we found Casa De Luis just off the highway with great views and well maintained roads that even our little car could get around on. We had a nice breakfast next to the fire and our room looked out over the lake and the aquatic park. For dinner we opted to visit the restaurant at the Cabanas del Lago which is just a short drive or walk from Casa de Luis. So if you are looking to stay outside of Otavalo and want somewhere clean, by the lake and comfortable I recommend this hotel. Hope to visit Luis on our next trip. He has a great knowledge of the area, things to do and speaks English very well.
