Europcar has fulfilled my needs as a customer. Rly good customer service. I lost my ID in the car, they found it and had it pretty fast in my hands again. Europcar is also really flexible when it comes to negotiating, they wanted me to be really comfortable. It was completely carefree to use their service, as they solved everything for me. I felt like they were taking care of me. Thank you!

My credit card has car insurance, without a deductible and covers up to 75,000. Europcar requires an insane deposit of 10,000 but because I have this insurance I thought it was fine. They pretended to make an authorization and told me it was declined. I called Chase and Europcar made no such authorization. It’s a scam and you can see from the reviews something they commonly do. They extorted me for 300 for insurance, and also gave us a car in awful condition. They left the floor mats wet with oil and the mirrors so dirty you can’t see out of them.
This is the worst rental car experience I have ever had. Please take everyone else's warnings seriously and stay away. These people are crooks and will find anyway possible to charge you egregious amounts for things you didn't agree to pay for. As soon as you put down a deposit you will not see that ever again. Do yourself a favor and do whatever you can to not rent from here. Reply: You have my email already.... I've sent you follow-up messages that you haven't replied to....
I arrived to Cuenca, my born city so, me and my family decided to rent a car in Europcar. The employees are very efficient and friendly. They helped us to choose the perfect car for driving in mountains. Definitely I will come back over again. Thank you Europcar!
I had a great experience in Europcar Ecuador! The KIA RIO car was clean and almost new. Employees are nice, they gave me an Ecuador map, it helped a lot to me and my friends.
I rented a good priced car by internet, but when I went to pickup the car I was informed that was necessary include an additional insurance that was near 34% of the daily price, and when asked why not informed in Internet the receptionist only blame showing me a document with a lot of pages that it was obligatory in one of the items!!! I canceled my reserve and rent a car in front of the airport! .... Excuse me but your answer is missing the point that is the price in your site was US103,00 including insurance and you ask more US34,00 in your office in airport! I just rent the same car in the other site of the avenue, Zaruma rent a car, by US90,00 without any problem and I am now in Quito with a rented car from Sixth, internet price US77,41, pickup price? The same amount!!! Ok, both asked for a credit card guarantee, instead of my VISA Platinum offer a complete covered insurance for rented car's...
Absolutely a Scam. They say they won't charge for insurance if you pay the deposit, but the deposit transaction is fake. I had the credit card on the phone with UNLIMITED credit, and they kept saying it was declined. The credit card assured me there was no attempt to charge anything. Once they fake the deposit, they tell you you are denied and charge you the "insurance" which more than doubles your payment. COMPLETE SCAM! STAY AWAY.
We were visiting with friends and decided to rent in this place. This is absolutely ridiculous! They pretend calling your credit card company abroad and tell you that authorization was denied or it’s limited. Jut to sell their own insurance. Being from Ecuador, I feel a shame they do this things.
