Quito, Ecuador

I loved this place, one of the typical places to get to know about colonial architecture and history. The five time rebuilt facade is charming and the interior is all covered in gold leaf. Strongly suggested for local and foreign visitors.

OK, if you want to learn a little bit of the catholic culture in Quito this is the church, la Merced is the matrona of this city, you can appreciate the history's about this virgin in all the painting inside
Wonderful expression of old Quito's school of art, details are quite well preserved, one of the many churches you can visit when you walk around Quito's old town, this area is mainly pedestrian, and it's easy to get here, my recommendation is to get here in a cab, since finding a parking spot requires of a big amount of patience. The unpleasant thing is that if you might need restrooms there are none.
Not so nice on the outside and not the best for art decorations compared to La Compania, this church still offers a good collection of Art and paintings to be admired by colonial art fans.
Nice place!! In Chile and Chimborazo square Streets in Quito, going up to Ipiales Comercial Centre. Active comercial life, whenever you pass by this Quito's street. The Christian church "La Merced", is also from colonial age high religious interest. Coconuts juice and other dishesh you can eat along the Chile street.
Bring your dates here. It's impressive
Another of Quito's amazing colonial churches.
One of the many (4) churches founded by missionaries. This one founded by Mercedarios.
