Super interesting visit. It is an old hospital with a church next to it. The tour that they provide is so great. Our guide was amazing, he has so much knowleage. I don’t recal his name as it was a very unique one but he gave us so many interesting explanations...I highly recommend it! If you want to know about the history of Ecuador and Quito, this is your place.

Just finished up a tour there with the lovely guide Jessica. It was really interesting and enjoyable. Entrance fee is 3.00 for adults. I took the Spanish tour but I saw they have English ones for a little more money. They had a cool old time buggy or carriage or whatever which was so cool! Run don’t walk and get schooled in the history of Quito!
Such a fun and informative stroll through the entire history of Quito from pre-historic to current times. The many exhibits are so interesting and this would be a great place to bring the whole family.
It is a nice modern structure with lots of environments and perfect for pictures and amenities... Not a heck slot to see but if you bring your bike you'll have a great time riding around this unique space and structure...
excellent museum of history and cultural changes in quito. detailed descriptions accompany the exhibits and wonderful artifacts and artwork line the halls of each section. the museum is designed to be experienced as a walk through time, from prehistoric to present day. quite fascinating and housed in a lovely, old building that was previously used as a hospital ages ago.
This is a rather well-done museum of the history of Quito. While there was some English signage, much of the exhibits were only in Spanish. For international visitors, adding dual-language signage would be very cost-effective and would enhance the visit. Overall - very well done and worth a visit.
Simply put, I loved this museo. It is as the guidebooks say: "worthwhile". It's a mix of taking-you-back dioramas, cool historical facts, excellent art, and some religious paraphernalia. If you've fallen in love with Quito--as my wife and I have in our 6 months here--this is a place to come to to learn more about this incredible, historic city.
Interesting range of exhibits about the old town and settlements that preceded it. The veranda has a fantastic view of the panecillo.
