El Refugio is a training and retreat center which facilitates a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through nature and outdoor adventure. We’re located 35 kilometers north of Quito, Ecuador in the town of Calacalí. El Refugio sits on 300 acres of land, stretching up a mountainside. We foster spiritual growth for individuals and groups through team-building activities, our low-ropes course, high-ropes course, climbing tower, zip-line, backpacking, orienteering, our prayer garden, treehouse, and other outdoor spaces intentionally created for quiet-times spent with God. We design customized experiences for each group that comes to use our property. Groups that we host range from youth groups to church groups, schools, businesses, mission teams, individuals, missionary groups, to leadership summits. We provide a space where individuals can get away, be challenged, connect with their Creator and then be sent and empowered to live the abundant life in Christ.
