I took classes at the school in Quito for about 2 and a half months. I loved my time with this school! They schedule activities for you to meet other students, explore the city, and try local activities. The gal who runs the school speaks English so if you don't know much Spanish she will gladly talk you through the program and what not. I had one teacher the majority of the time but a couple of others when holidays came around and everyone was wonderful. Super inviting. And I learned so much! You really get what you pay for when you do the one on one classes. I plan on returning in the near future!
I took a week of classes at the school, really enjoyed them and came away having covered the things I was interested in. The school has a welcoming atmosphere and there is always a different snack available for free during the breaks. My teacher Irma made my lessons fun and brought the language to life. I would certainly study here again if I am ever in Quito. It's also a good place to meet others who have come to learn Spanish from around the world.
Good teachers & cultural experiences. The neighborhood is safe & close to restaurants & shops.
highly recommend....qualified, thorough and worth it! if you want to learn the language and the grammar, this is the place....all of my efforts have been on line using Skype.
We (my wife & I) have had a wonderful experience with the Spanish language program, visa assistance, and volunteering through the school. Teachers were excellent, adjusting their teaching methods & materials to meet our needs. We each took private lessons and thus experienced how the teachers adjusted to our different learning styles. Prices for private lessons were very reasonable. The books were an extra cost, but totally worth it - we still use them for review even though we've finished the class. The evening events and weekend trips organized by the school were fun & economical. The administration assisted us with getting our visas & didn't charge for their service (we were going to pay a lawyer 250 per visa, so this was a great savings.) They knew the process and guided us through it flawlessly. They arranged a volunteer opportunity for us that was wonderful - we taught English in a local primary school. They were flexible in working with our schedule. Highly recommend this organization.
Our family had an excellent two weeks of Spanish lessons here. The staff and teachers were very helpful in arranging/recommending accommodation and our week of volunteer project. Our children (8 and 12 years old) took individual lessons and they enjoyed all the lessons thoroughly. The lessons were specially tailored to them and they made it interesting to for them to learn. The after school activities are a bonus as well. Overall, I highly recommend Simon Bolivar Spanish school to any family that are considering taking Spanish lessons in Quito.
