Beautiful Wallis, amazing people who live there care for the place, there are signs leading to many different paths and names of trees. Beautiful river walk and places to dip in the river.

My favourite place in Ecuador!! Absolutely fantastic!! We stayed in a very nice and clean wooden cabin in the forest. It was so calm and peaceful, all we've heard were the river, frogs and crickets. It's in the middle of nature, but still in walking distance to town. There are many nice walking trails. The owners of the place are extremely nice and inspiring.

Make decisions The park is 100% great. Trails are marked intelligently. The people that run it were the people who made it. Reforestation started 25 years ago. Extremely intelligent folks well organized. The water here is the best water in the area. The trails up the mountains are marked with good information to help decide which one to try. I just spent a month here. Friday and Saturday nights can be a little noisy with music from town.

Nice alternative for a smaller hike in the area of Vilcabamba if you don't feel like taking any further hike. There are varied trails taking you through interesting terrains, along the river or upper through some little canyons.

Make sure to check in at house/reception to get a guide and information. Main Trail and Flood Plain Trail are easy. Others are steep. Bit of a challenge for the over 70 crowd. Good signage for trails and fauna.

Nice hidden place near Vilcabamba. You can stay in cabañas for around 20 or camp for a fraction of that price (kitchen and showers available)
